The results of 100 prospecting videos
Introduction
What would be the result if you sent 100 personalized videos to C-level sales executives? Alon has been answering this question over the past few months by testing his unique approach to video prospecting. In this blog post, we’ll share his approach and results.
The Approach
Alon began by carefully selecting the right prospects. Understanding the personas was essential, since the challenges faced by a CEO differ from those of a marketer or a sales manager. He then designed a pitch that specifically addressed these challenges. A crucial part of this was devising a scenario that made the video personal and engaging, setting it apart from traditional cold outreach.
Personal Connection
Establishing a personal connection proved to be essential. Alon spent 5 to 15 minutes per prospect personalizing the video so that recipients felt it had been created especially for them. This ensured that 90 percent of recipients watched the video all the way through, despite its relatively long duration of two and a half to three minutes.
Embedded video
This video is hosted by another company. As soon as it loads, that company sees your IP address and sets its own cookies.
Results
Alon’s efforts were not in vain. Of the 100 videos sent out, 40 percent were actually viewed. Of this group, 90 percent watched the video in its entirety, and 50 percent of them showed interest by providing positive feedback or scheduling meetings. This result demonstrates that personal videos can be an effective way to capture the attention of C-level executives and initiate a dialogue.
Lessons and Improvements
Not every video had the desired effect. Sometimes the challenge addressed wasn't relevant, or the video wasn't personal enough. This feedback is valuable because it shows how important it is to include the right information and a personal touch in every video.
Inspiration and Next Steps
The positive feedback—including compliments from other sellers and the long-standing relationships Alon has built—gave him the energy to keep going. One prospect was so impressed that he called Alon right away to thank him for the video, which gave him a huge boost of motivation.
Conclusion
Video prospecting is a labor-intensive and time-consuming method, but the results speak for themselves. Sending personalized videos can increase engagement and open doors that remain closed with traditional methods. Although 60 percent of recipients did not watch the video, the fact that the videos have already been created provides an opportunity to resend them later.
Alon’s experiment shows that, with the right approach, personalized videos can be a powerful tool in sales strategies. If you’d like to learn more, let us know, and we’d be happy to share our experiences and further results.

"Our people make the difference." Really? As a former "digital workplace & IT entrepreneur," I've said this for years about my 25 colleagues. But the reality is we were only considered thought leaders by 5% of our target audience. Even today, this remains a common statement from MSPs and IT service providers. But these words lose their meaning if your expertise does not extend beyond your existing customers and a handful of prospects. I now help IT entrepreneurs with thought leadership in their niche.
