What is a vodcast?

A vodcast (video podcast) is a series of video conversations in which knowledge, experiences, and insights are shared with a target audience. But in practice, it often amounts to nothing more than isolated videos and superficial conversations.

THE PITFALL

Pitfall

If you use a vodcast to build visibility, the approach often looks like this: you have conversations, share insights, and post regularly. On paper, it makes sense. But the goal remains superficial. The conversations stay safe and the topics remain general. There’s little at stake. You share what you know, but you don’t show how you think. And so something fundamental happens: you build reach, but not authority.

No direction. No progress.

As a result, you don't build a narrative—and therefore, you don't establish authority.

  • superficiality

You have conversations, but you don't go into depth. It stays safe and general. As a result, there's no clarity and therefore no distinction.

  • no position

You share insights… but don’t take a stance. You don’t show what you stand for. And without a stance, there’s no preference.

  • no structure

This episode stands on its own.

Benefits

A vodcast isn’t about creating content. It’s about taking ownership of your story. You don’t wait for someone to ask you… you set the agenda yourself. Not to say everything… but to keep getting sharper. No standalone episodes. Just a continuous thread of thought. You’re not building a channel. You’re building a position. And that’s exactly where you make a difference.

What's your next step?

You’re on this owned vodcast page because you feel that standalone content isn’t enough. You want your own format in which your vision is consistently showcased. A vodcast isn’t just a series of conversations—it’s a platform where you showcase your way of thinking. Within the EMPOWER framework , you connect this format to your messaging, events, and other forms of content. This way, your vodcast isn’t just a channel in and of itself, but the driving force behind your thought leadership.
